History of mathematics


History of mathematics deals with the origins of mathematics and past mathematical situations and notations. Before the modern era and the knowledge of knowledge around the world, written examples of new developments in mathematics appear in a few places. From 3000 BC the Mesopotamian states of Sumer, Akkad and Assyria, followed by ancient Egypt and the Levantine state of Ebla, began to use mathematics, algebra and geometry for taxation, trade, commerce and nature.
